Budget Analyst II/Senior
Biweekly Salary - $88,500.01 - 134,612.76
The City of Stockton is seeking to fill one position at the Budget Analyst II or Senior level in its central budget office. The position will be filled at the appropriate level depending upon experience.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be proficient in a variety of business and financial computer applications, have government experience, project management experience, and possess excellent oral and written customer service skills. Prior central budgeting and accounting experience in a government entity is desirable.
The incumbent will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 8:00am - 6:00pm Mondays through Thursdays; 8:00am to 5:00pm on working Fridays, with alternating Fridays off.
Under general direction, plans, organizes, and administers specialized City programs and projects, directs and coordinates the work of assigned professional and support staff, performs analytical analyses, prepares long-term financial forecasts, develops, monitors, and reports Citywide operating and capital improvement budgets; responsible for policy development and program planning and implementation with Citywide implications; and performs related work as assigned.

Budget Analyst II:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in accounting, economics, business or public administration, or a closely related field. and a minimum of two (2) years of professional level experience in budget development and administration. Experience in a public agency is desirable.
Senior Budget Analyst:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in in accounting, economics, business or public administration, or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of professional level experience in budget development and administration. Lead or supervisory experience and demonstrated major project administrative experience are desirable.
