The City is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Accounting Manager to join its team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, service-oriented municipal environment.
As a key member of the Finance Management Team, the Accounting Manager plays a vital role in supporting the operations of a full-service city, working closely with the Finance Director and Budget Manager. This position leads a dedicated team consisting of five full-time staff, one part-time temporary staff member, and external consultants. Together, they oversee core financial functions including the general ledger, utility billing, general accounts receivable, grant management, capital assets, treasury, and other essential finance activities.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring a hands-on Accounting Manager who can adapt quickly to shifting priorities. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical expert in accounting, have strong supervisory skills, collaborate with other departments, and contribute to broader strategic initiatives.
Key priorities for the first year include:
- Delivering annual audit results
- Implementing Resident Access within the Tyler Munis ERP system
- Developing a comprehensive collections policy
