			| New Interim Executive Director at the Helm of CSMFO Thursday, September 5, 2024

On August 22, 2024, the CSMFO Board of Directors unanimously approved Margaret Moggia to serve as the next Executive Director for CSMFO. This appointment comes upon the recent departure of Jean Rousseau, who served in this capacity since January
2022. On behalf of the Board, I extend our appreciation to Jean for his service and efforts to connect new members to CSMFO. We are thrilled to have Margaret assume this role as we transition through continuous improvements that will benefit
members and focus our efforts on organizational sustainability.

The Board's decision to extend an agreement to Margaret for a one-year term is based on her knowledge of CSMFO programs and activities, having served as a volunteer leader since 2005. Her roles include being elected to serve as the 2018 President,
actively serving on several committees with a focus on membership engagement and educational programs, and most recently serving as Finance Committee Chair.  This appointment is an important step for CSMFO, as the Executive Director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the programs and execution of its mission. With the growth of the association over the last few years, the CSMFO
Board has been evaluating its program delivery and processes to ensure that a solid foundation is being built to continue to deliver high quality education, meaningful member engagement, and outreach to new individuals who will bring value to
the public sector finance profession. We want to ensure that efficient businesses processes are established, so as new volunteers participate, they have the tools in place to provide seamless programming to our membership.
Speaking to her recent appointment, Margaret shared her appreciation to the CSMFO Board. "Thank you to the Board for their confidence in recommending me to serve in this capacity. CSMFO has been a valuable resource and community of like-minded
thought leaders throughout my career. I look forward to continue to support the Board and volunteer leadership in building on our successes to meet the needs of our membership through training, networking, and development of other resources to
support the important role we serve to local governments."
We look forward to working with Margaret in the coming year and stay tuned to the CSMFO News to learn more about Margaret and her goals for CSMFO.
