Inland Empire Chapter Roundup: Learning, Networking, and Friendly Competition

Thursday, November 7, 2024

Since the Spring Chapter meeting, the Inland Empire Chapter of CSMFO has kept the momentum going with two additional successful gatherings.

Beating the Summer Heat with Top Golf
In July, we embraced the SoCal summer with our much-anticipated interactive event at Top Golf. The focus of the day was Year-End Closing Best Practices, led by an expert panel from Rogers, Anderson, Malody & Scott, LLP and joined by special guest Jennifer Ustation from the City of Beaumont. After an insightful presentation, attendees participated in an engaging discussion and lively Q&A. But the learning didn’t stop there – our members took their collaborative spirit to the tee box! With appetizers in hand and a bit of friendly competition in the air, connections were strengthened and memories made.

Diving into Insurance Insights at Dave & Buster’s
In September, we returned to one of our favorite meeting spots, Dave & Buster’s in Ontario, for another engaging event. This time, we had the pleasure of hosting Rob Lowe from Allied Insurance Services. His presentation provided invaluable insights into today’s challenging insurance landscape, covering topics such as impactful market conditions for insureds, trends in underwriting, and the key concerns driving decisions for insurance risk managers. Attendees left with practical takeaways on how Finance Directors can skillfully navigate this evolving environment.

Both events brought together knowledge-sharing, networking, and just the right amount of fun – true to the spirit of our Inland Empire Chapter! Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together in the months ahead.

Year-End Holiday Gathering
Anticipating a holiday gathering that will be significantly larger than in previous years, we’ve selected an exciting new venue for this year’s event. This year, we will convene at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club and have an informative presentation by the one and only, Michael Coleman. Registration is open, so be sure to sign up! See you on December 4th!

Special thanks to Tori Roberts (Inland Empire Chapter Chair), Sid Jain and Matthew Schenk (Inland Empire Chapter Vice Chairs), and Veronica Bustillos, Jessica Brown, Evelyn Morentin Barcena, and Heidi Schoeppe (Chapter Committee Members).
