Investment Accounting 

A CSMFO Core Course 

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, August 5 & 6, 2025 

This course will provide valuable and in-depth investment accounting training.  The course will cover the major concepts that impact how governments account for investments, as well as the financial reporting requirements under current GASB pronouncements.  The class will also include investment terminology, types of investment vehicles, and a discussion of internal controls surrounding investment transactions.  The class will focus on local government investment accounting and reporting, but will not address investments governed by the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937 (1937-Act plans). 

This is a not-to-be-missed nuts-and-bolts course that will help you dive into everything you ever wanted to know about accounting for investments! 

This class is limited to 60 participants.  Advance registration is required for this class.
