The City of Pittsburg, CA seeks an Assistant Director of Finance with a strong understanding of municipal finance/governmental accounting and budgeting, payroll, utility billing as well as complex financial analysis related to preparing and monitoring the citywide budget. The candidates will have demonstrated experience implementing technology to enhance operations and the customer experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will be a trusted leader, a collaborator and have a track record of building productive relationships throughout the organization and proven accountability for stakeholder satisfaction and process transparency. The Assistant Director of Finance will report to the Director of Finance and support the City’s sustainable financial plan for the future as well as develop and grow the City’s talented finance staff.

About the Finance Department
The Finance Department is staffed by 19 FTEs and is responsible for accounting operations, payroll, utility billing, budget, financial reporting, debt issuance and management and investments for all the City departments and agencies (including the Successor Agency to the former Redevelopment Agency, Pittsburg Power Company and Housing Authority) and Risk Management. The Finance team strives for progressive investment in our community's future, as well as in our organization and staff, so that the City of Pittsburg can operate efficiently and effectively.
