The East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) invites applications for the position of Assistant General Manager – Finance & Management Services (AGM Finance/CFO), serving as the District’s Chief Financial Officer.

This is a rare executive opportunity to lead the financial and administrative foundation of one of the nation’s largest and most respected regional park systems. The AGM Finance/CFO plays a pivotal role in safeguarding public resources, advancing long-range financial sustainability, and modernizing systems and infrastructure that support over 125,000 acres of parkland and millions of annual visitors.

The next AGM Finance/CFO will guide the Division through a period of strategic transformation, including implementation of a new Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, centralization of procurement functions, and development of a comprehensive financial strategic framework, all while ensuring operational excellence, fiscal integrity, and transparent governance.

Essential Functions

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager of Finance & Management Services serves as the District’s Chief Financial Officer and a strategic partner to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors. This role leads the financial vision and administrative infrastructure of one of the nation’s premier regional park systems—overseeing budgeting, accounting, treasury and investments, debt administration, procurement, grants, and enterprise information systems—while ensuring fiscal integrity, operational excellence, and alignment with Board priorities. The AGM/CFO will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing key organizational initiatives, including implementation of the District’s Workday ERP system, modernization of financial and reporting processes, strengthening of a centralized procurement model, and stewardship of a robust multi-year Capital Improvement Program. Ideal candidates bring sound fiscal judgment, political acumen, and the ability to lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives that enhance transparency, internal controls, and long-term financial sustainability in a dynamic public-sector environment.
