Make the 2025 CSMFO Conference a Family Affair!

Thursday, June 27, 2024

As you may know, the much anticipated “CSMFO 2025 Annual Conference: Educate, Connect, Empower” will take place at the San Jose Convention Center February 18-21, 2025. And if you’ve checked your calendars, you may also have noticed that February 17, 2025, falls on the President’s Day holiday, and many schools across California have that week off. If you have school-aged kids and your family is made up of avid snow people, you may typically take that week to hit the slopes. But have you considered a family vacay (or if you’re local to the Greater Bay Area, a family staycay) in San José?  Don’t miss out on the 2025 CSMFO Conference—bringing your kids isn’t just for the Disney years!

Here are some reasons why you may consider combining a family trip with next year’s CSMFO conference:

  1. Flying in and out of San José Mineta International Airport is a breeze!
  2. Love amusement parks and rides? Visit nearby California’s Great America or, for the younger ones, Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.
  3. Do museums and culture top your list of vacation must-do’s? Check out the Children’s Discovery Museum, The Tech Interactive, or the San José Museum of Art. Did you know that the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in West North America? Get spooked touring the puzzling Winchester Mystery House or go see a show at Broadway San Jose.
  4. Looking for top-notch shopping and restaurants? San José is home to the upscale and luxurious Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair Mall filled with world-renowned labels and destination dining. Experience Michelin rated restaurants or authentic local Mexican and Vietnamese fare throughout the city.
  5. Iconic sports teams?  Silicon Valley has those too! Whether the teams are in season or not, visit the SAP Center, PayPal Park, Excite Ballpark, or nearby Levi’s Stadium for events or fan gear.
  6. Is your family the outdoorsy type? While there’s no skiing in San José, there are plenty of outdoor activities, trails, and parks in the area! The Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve in the Eastern foothills of Santa Clara County offers sweeping views of the Valley and diverse landscapes. Or stroll through the Japanese Friendship Garden in Kelley Park.

Next year’s CSMFO Conference promises to deliver on its core mission to educate, connect and empower its members.  Even if your kids are out of school that week, be sure to attend—and bring the family along!
